Passage of the week

8th October

2 Corinthians Chapter 5: verse 7

For our life is a matter of faith, not of sight.

The Bible teaches us to live by faith rather than what we see and feel; however, there are times when God does use our circumstances to speak to us. We must know the difference between faith, foolishness and presumption. We walk in faith, but we must also ask God to give us wisdom to know when to totally ignore circumstances and to when to pay attention to circumstances because He is using them to speak to us and guide us. Live by faith, but don’t be foolish.

Isaiah Chapter 40: verse 31

But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not grow weak.

We live in a time–crunched world and just about everything we do seems to be urgent. The enemy has been extremely successful in his scheme to keep people from praying and spending time in the Word by keeping us so terribly busy, to the point that we often neglect the things that are really important in life; God, family and other relationships, our health, and building up our spiritual lives. When we take time with God and listen to His voice, He renews our strength and enables to handle life and not be weary. But we have to start by using the time we have wisely by putting God first. Take time to hear God’s voice today.

Isaiah Chapter 55: verse 8

My thoughts says the Lord, are not yours, and My ways are different from yours.

God does not always give a job or task to the most qualified person. Often, a person’s heart attitude is more important than experience or credentials. What God chooses to do does not always make sense to us; it does not always fit into our reasoning, Our minds do not always understand the spiritual leadings that we have from God. His thoughts are indeed above ours! All His ways are right and sure. Let your spirit take the lead and don’t be lead by your head.
